Know the climb before you're on it.

Saddlebag reads your route, your numbers and your bike, then tells you where it gets hard, what to eat, what to pack and what's due on the bike. Plan it, check it, pack it, then put the phone away.

When you find a route

Every climb, worked out for your legs.

Drop in the file. Saddlebag finds each climb and works out the watts, the gear, the time, and whether you'll make it. The route's verdict is its hardest climb, so you know before you commit.

Easy
Up to your FTP
Steady
Up to 110% of it
Hard
Past 110%, but you'll make it
Too hard
You'd stall. Fit easier gears.

Gear by grade: the watts every cadence asks for on every slope.

The days before

Carbs an hour, pinned to the route.

Saddlebag works out what the ride needs and what your bottles hold, then names the food you actually have. For this one: 90 g an hour, 8 citrus gels, a rice cake, 2 bottles and 3 refills. Eat before the climbs, not on them.

The planner keeps four weeks in view, with the hardest ride marked, so the big day doesn't sneak up on you.

Fuel plan for the Marilaque climb: 90 g of carbs an hour, each gel and bottle pinned along the elevation profile, and what to take: 8 citrus gels, 1 rice cake, 2 bottles, 3 refills.

The night before

Pack by where it rides.

Cages, saddlebag, pockets. Tick things off as they go in and Saddlebag tells you whether what you're carrying covers the ride. Each cage keeps its own bottle size.
