Saddlebag Privacy Policy
Last updated 19 October 2026
Short version: no account, no ads, no servers keeping your data. Everything you enter stays on your phone.
This policy covers the Saddlebag app for iPhone, iPad and Android.
What Saddlebag keeps, and where
- Your rider setup and preferences (weight, FTP, gearing, units, theme) are saved on your phone only. They are never sent to us.
- Route files (GPX and TCX) are read and analysed on your phone. They are never uploaded.
- Your garage (bikes, parts, service dates and the values you enter), your plans, fuel and training stay on your phone too.
- Photos you take of your bike, parts or food labels stay on your phone. Food labels are read on the phone.
- If you export a backup, the file goes wherever you choose to save or send it. Saddlebag does not keep a copy anywhere else.
- Your phone's own backup (iCloud on iPhone and iPad, Google backup on Android) may keep a copy under your account. Saddlebag has no server and never sees it. You > Your data in the app says what is backed up.
- Deleting the app deletes all of it from your phone.
What Saddlebag does not do
- No accounts, no sign-in, no passwords.
- No advertising and no tracking across apps or websites.
- No selling or sharing of personal data. We do not collect any to begin with.
Network requests
Weather (iPhone, iPad and Android). When you use the weather forecast, Saddlebag asks Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com) for the weather along your route. That request includes the coordinates of the route, and Open-Meteo may see your IP address as part of answering it. Open-Meteo's privacy policy applies to that request.
Reading food labels (Android only). On Android, Saddlebag reads food labels with Google's ML Kit text recognition, which runs on the phone. The photo and the text read from it never leave the phone. ML Kit itself sends Google basic diagnostics: device model and OS version, the app's package name and version, a per-installation identifier that does not identify you, and performance and error information. Google uses this to keep ML Kit working and does not pass it to third parties. See https://developers.google.com/ml-kit/android-data-disclosure.
On iPhone and iPad, food labels are read with Apple's on-device text recognition and nothing is sent.
Saddlebag makes no other network requests. Its fonts are built into the app.
Feedback
- Request a feature opens a Google form in your browser. Only what you type into the form is sent, and Google's privacy policy applies to it. Saddlebag adds nothing from the app.
- Rate Saddlebag opens the app's page in the App Store or on Google Play.
- If you email us, we use your email only to reply.
Sharing
Share cards are drawn on your phone. When you share one, it goes only where you send it, and that app's own privacy policy applies.
Notifications
Ride and service reminders are scheduled on your phone. No notification service or server is involved.
Children
Saddlebag is not aimed at children and does not knowingly collect data from anyone.
Your rights
Because Saddlebag does not collect personal data, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete on a server. You can edit what you entered in the app, export it from You > Your data, and delete all of it by deleting the app.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows the current version.
